RECENT RECIPE ADDITIONS:

Hamburger Buns in 30 Minutes

Mix and then rest for 15 minutes:
1 ¾ cup water
½ cup oil
1/3 cup sugar
1 ½ tsp salt
1 egg
5 cups flour
3 Tbsp instant yeast *

Mix all ingredients together using about half of the flour.  After batter is smooth switch to dough hook and knead in remaining flour.  Roll out dough about ½ inch thick.  Cut circles (larger than for biscuits… but smaller than a finished bun) and place on greased cookie sheet. ( allow room for expanding)  Let rise about 10 min.  Bake in preheated 400 degree oven for about 10 minutes.

* note:  less yeast may be used in this recipe but a longer rising time will be needed.

Did you try these buns yet? I forgot to ask you if you did or if you tried the hotdog buns.

no!! i'm so mad. i bought hamburger meat the other day FOR this purpose. and then i got everything out and was about to cook my meat when i realized i didn't have any buns. because i was going to MAKE them! so at that point, i just made something else. i'm such a space case. the same thing happened with cabbage and beef bundles, remember?

Oh dear... that isn't a good sign, my dear. I was hoping you weren't going to be like your mother... that you were going to be able to "hold it all together" and show us all how it is really done... dear, oh dear!
